Almost everything written in English about Korean plastic surgery was written to be found by, and sold to, an international audience. That’s half the picture. We read the other half — what Korean patients themselves see.
The Gap This Site Exists to Close
International patients usually meet Korean plastic surgery through English-language clinic pages, social media, and medical tourism platforms. Korean patients see a much wider slice of it: Korean-language clinic sites, Korean search results, domestic review platforms, and community discussions most visitors have never heard of.
Those two versions are not always the same. A clinic can present one face to international patients and a different one to Korean consumers — different emphasis, different detail, sometimes different pricing. We read both, and we tell you when they don’t match.
What That Means in Practice
- We read the Korean page, not just the English one. Much of what matters lives only in Korean, organized differently from English-language sites.
- We treat a clinic’s own claims as claims. An impressive website, heavy advertising, and hundreds of reviews don’t add up to a verified picture. We check who the surgeon actually is and which credentials can be independently confirmed.
- We label how well each thing is verified. Independently checkable, reported by individual patients, or claimed by the provider — these are three different things, and we don’t blur them together.
- We date what we find. Clinics change staff, promotions, and pricing. Information on this site is tied to when we actually observed it.
- We handle prices separately and carefully. A posted price is often promotional, conditional, or missing what’s actually included — and pricing quoted to international patients can differ from Korean pricing. We track where a price came from and use ranges instead of false precision.
Korean Sources Aren’t Automatically Truer
Reading Korean sources is not the same as trusting them. A Korean review can be genuine and still be subjective, promotional, based on a single experience, tied to a promotion that ended, or simply out of date. We look for patterns rather than quoting one loud opinion, we separate personal experience from medical evidence, and where the sources genuinely disagree, we say so. We don’t manufacture a consensus that isn’t there.
